Peacock theme ideas

I’ve been coming across some fantastic peacock themed wedding ideas lately so I thought they deserved their own post. The thing with such a colourful theme, it’s probably wise to go easy on the feathers and the teal or it could quite easily go into overkill.

Everything Steampunk

I’ve been in a bit of a steampunk mode since becoming thoroughly absorbed by Gail Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate novels, so I’ve been hunting the internets for fabulous steampunky wedding themes.

I came across this series of book covers by Nekro for a series of steampunk novels by Liesel Schwarz that I thought were wonderfully striking and I could just imagine them printed up and being used for funky decor.

Now, without further ado, here are various items that caught my eye….

The amazing Romantic Threads have a whole range of Steampunk Gothic Victorian gowns that are quite breathtaking.

The rest of their website is a treasure trove of steampunk accessories.

Not that I need an excuse to look at Demonia shoes, but they have a wide range of steampunk themed boots and shoes. Here are just some of my favourites.

Paper Love

Paper Love create beautiful, personalised flowers, buttonholes, wreaths and many other items.

I love the idea of bouquets being personalised with special messages. It’s such a lovely idea, especially if you’re at all like me who has a real soft spot for film and book quotes. The idea of having something very personal to you written through your wedding flowers is just really romantic and unique.

And they look so pretty and stylish….

Their creations are perfect for any special occasion such as anniversaries, birthday and new homes.

Their creations are acid free and eco friendly. They are all hand made so every item is unique to their customer.

Bouquet Preservation

I’ve recently seen some lovely ideas for preserving wedding flowers. Drying and pressing flowers has long been a way of preserving your wedding flowers, but I really love the idea of framing your whole bouquet to display.

Precious Petals are a family run business based in Bramley, near Basingstoke and Reading.

They were asked to preserve the wedding bouquet for the Countess of Wessex, and offer a personal touch for all of their customers, royalty or not.

Flowers can be pressed or presented three dimensionally to stunning effect.

They can even be presented as a beautiful paperweight.

In the US, Mountain View Freeze Dry present wedding bouquets in stunning frames, complete with a photo from your wedding day, or even with your toasting flutes.

A bride’s bouquet is such an integral part of her whole ensemble and I opted for silk roses as I really wanted to be able to keep my bouquet as a memento of the day. Being able to freeze dry and preserve your bouquet in this way is both beautiful and convenient.

For the study, or as a table centrepiece, these flower domes are gorgeous.

Now your wedding flowers can be timeless.

Whirlado ~ unique personalised gifts

Louanne Frances at Whirlado Designs creates beautiful and quirky gifts and keepsakes for any occasion.

Her website is a treasure trove of handmade keepsake boxes, charming bespoke button bouquets and wedding books.

The anniversary of my gorgeous vintage tea party hen weekend is just a few days away and seeing this lovely memory book just added to my nostalgia.

I love these pretty token favours for wedding guests. Simple but effective.

I really love the idea of wishing trees. They’re a lovely symbol of marriage and make for a striking feature. Look at this quirky owl tree.

Angel Floral Designs

Angel Floral Designs design and produce bouquets and floral arrangements using silk and velvet foam flowers to stunning effect.

I love artificial flowers because not only can you treasure your wedding bouquet forever, they truly represent what a wedding should symbolise – lasting love.

There is a broad range of bouquets available, here are just a few:

Artificial floral arrangements are also less expensive than real flowers and require little maintenance and are perfect for allergy sufferers!

Angel Floral Designs also produce some wonderfully quirky table decorations. I particularly love the idea of this rosy cupcake stand centrepiece arrangement!

Or how about a champagne flower arrangement?

These wire heart flower girl baskets and table centrepieces are so charming and ideal for a summer wedding:

They also design hair accessories.
