I recently did a post about the gorgeous cards and memory books produced by Immortal Visions and I was so attracted to Melissa Walker’s creations, that I commissioned a memory book for my hen weekend photos.
I sent Melissa the photos I wanted to be included in the book and a general colour scheme that I wanted: purple and black, polka dots and damask.
I was blown away by what she went away and created. She has created something beautiful and unique to my vintage tea party.
It is a perfect memento of what was a very special day.
My Maid of Honour and I were recently reminiscing over my amazing Hen Party and she mentioned that one of the possible venues that she had enquired about was at The Jekyll & Hyde in Birmingham.
Their Victorian Gin Parlour is available for hire but sadly wasn’t available on the day for my hen party.
It’s a stunning room and a brilliant venue choice for your event.
Take a look at their Wonderland Courtyard too!
My hen party was actually held at a sister venue, The Victoria and it was wonderful. We had the use of their function room and it was the perfect place for our burlesque lesson, vintage tea party and makeover.
Their cocktails were absolutely fantastic and the whole environment and experience was wonderful.
It seems fitting to devote a post to the amazing Sundae Surprise since I recently found out that my hen party has been declared hen party of 2011.
My Maid of Honour was in charge of the hen weekend and kept the whole thing a secret. It was months in the planning and was more than I could have ever hoped for.
The venue was The Victoria in Birmingham where I was greeted by the gorgeous Cherry Sundae.
The afternoon began with cocktails to loosen us up for our burlesque lesson with Miss Daisy Deluxe. It was great fun and such a good giggle.
Our efforts were rewarded by the most splendid vintage tea party, beautifully presented by Cherry. It was a delicious spread of cakes and wraps, cute mini sandwiches and scones, and of course, tea!
While we were making a start at decimating this delectable feast, we were further treated to a pin-up makeover to get further fabuloused up! It was such a nice treat and I loved being so spoilt!
Our hair was done by the lovely Jennifer Brown and make-up by Sharrone Darley. We also had a fantastic photographer for the day, Terri Amos whose photos serve as a wonderful record of an amazing afternoon.
If you’re looking for a hen party with a vintage twist, I can’t recommend Cherry’s website enough. She was lovely to meet and I really felt special for an afternoon.
