I hope you like the new blog name! I decided to change the name from Lightfoot Weddings, as I felt AlternaBrides more accurately reflected the content of the blog.

I posted about Creative Bridal Solutions a while back. I really love their collections of damask bridal accessories and was really pleased to see some Hallowe’en themes.
Nightmare Before Christmas/Jack & Sally themed weddings are ever popular and I love these garters and the Jack & Sally cake topper.
Whatever your theme or colour scheme, you’ll be sure to find something you like in this store!
I recently did a post about the gorgeous cards and memory books produced by Immortal Visions and I was so attracted to Melissa Walker’s creations, that I commissioned a memory book for my hen weekend photos.
I sent Melissa the photos I wanted to be included in the book and a general colour scheme that I wanted: purple and black, polka dots and damask.
I was blown away by what she went away and created. She has created something beautiful and unique to my vintage tea party.
Dream Dressings is a family fun venue dressing business based in the West Midlands.
They first came to my attention when I stumbled across their photos of a black and purple themed wedding.
They offer a wide variety of wedding packages to suit any budget and they also work closely with other family run businesses to ensure you receive a bespoke service for your special day.
Their dressings are striking and classy and if you can’t see a package that quite suits you, they also offer a bespoke package so you get exactly what you want.
For further details, contact the Venue Dressing Executive, Emma Henlan and also keep an eye on their website and Facebook page for details of exhibitions they are attending.
I’ve been coming across some fantastic peacock themed wedding ideas lately so I thought they deserved their own post. The thing with such a colourful theme, it’s probably wise to go easy on the feathers and the teal or it could quite easily go into overkill.

I’ve been in a bit of a steampunk mode since becoming thoroughly absorbed by Gail Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate novels, so I’ve been hunting the internets for fabulous steampunky wedding themes.
I came across this series of book covers by Nekro for a series of steampunk novels by Liesel Schwarz that I thought were wonderfully striking and I could just imagine them printed up and being used for funky decor.
Now, without further ado, here are various items that caught my eye….
The amazing Romantic Threads have a whole range of Steampunk Gothic Victorian gowns that are quite breathtaking.
KMK Designs have some cool steampunk outfits. Their dresses are also available in a variety of fabrics and colours. Custom design is also an option.
Steampunk Bazaar have a variety of dresses for a steampunk themed wedding.
The rest of their website is a treasure trove of steampunk accessories.
Not that I need an excuse to look at Demonia shoes, but they have a wide range of steampunk themed boots and shoes. Here are just some of my favourites.
This stunning bouquet can be made to order from Ditsy Bride.
They also make these stunning steampunk corsages.
And what about this darling wand for your flower girl?
As usual, Etsy is a gold mine of steampunk themed jewellery and should be easy to find something suited to your tastes.

Immortal Visions is a lush handmade paper crafts online store, featuring dark and gothic themed cards, bookmarks and memory books.
All stationery is designed by the store’s owner, Melissa Walker. An avid fan of the horror genre, it’s easy to see where she draws her inspiration from and her designs will be a big hit for any fans of horror, gothic, steampunk or Victoriana.
I was really pleased to see amongst her designs, a Bubo themed card. I’m a big fan of the old Clash of the Titans film and this design really made me smile.
There are cards that cater to all sorts of occasions, and if you’re a book lover, there are some gorgeous bookmark designs that I think would also make really nice wedding favours.
I really love the dark purples and reds, with the obligatory black of course! I might have to source my next Valentines Day card from here.
I’d like a handmade memory book for my hen weekend photos, so I think I will contact Melissa soon to see what she can come up with!
Follow Immortal Visions on Facebook for regular updates.
This gorgeous bouquet was commissioned to be made by Alison at the wonderful Pink Corsage. This was created for a steampunk wedding and I’m sure this bouquet will complement it beautifully.
